National Energy Board Export Permit
Candela Energy holds a long term Export
Permit, issued by the NEB. The Export Permit allows
the company to export electricity across all major interconnections
between Canada and the U.S.
Energy Removal Certificate (ERC)
This certificate is issued by the British
Columbia government and allows market participants to
remove electricity from the province. Candela Energy
has been granted an ERC.
Power Marketing Authorization (PMA)
In 2000, Candela Energy received its Power
Marketing Authorization from the U.S. Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission. This authorization allows the
company to purchase and sell wholesale electricity anywhere
in the U.S.
Western Systems Power Pool (WSPP)
Member
The WSPP is an organization of electric
utilities and marketers based in the U.S. Pacific Northwest.
Membership enables Candela Energy to trade under the
terms of the WSPP Master Agreement with any other WSPP
member.
Power Pool of Alberta Participant
Candela is an active Power Pool of Alberta
participant.
Independent Power Producers Society
of Alberta (IPPSA)
IPPSA is an organization of power producers
and marketers in Alberta that draws on the expertise
and perspectives of its members to influence regulatory
policy.
